Hello folks, sorry it has been awhile. I was away from camp for Week 7 and most of Week 8, so I didn't post anything for those weeks, then before I knew it, it was the last week of camp! Where has this summer gone!? As a quick recap, here's what's been happening the past few weeks. Week 7 was our Amazing Race week. While I was gone, Miss Claire and Miss Kelley and the other counselors had the kids competing in various road blocks and detours just like the contestant on the show really do The kids had a blast competing against each other to earn points to see who would win the race. In the end, Ethan and Rohit won, Emmett and Aidan got second, and Edy and Cecily got third. It was a job well done by all! The kids got to show off their talent in Week 8 with Kids Kamp Got Talents. The campers created their own Hollywood star to start the week, and throughout the week learned new dance moves, drawing/coloring techniques, and sang their hearts out. The week concluded with a talent show for the parents that blew everybody away. The last week was spent as "Classic Camp" with hanging out with friends, playing outside, art & crafts, and swimming. It was a good last week of camp. Throughout this time, we also enjoyed field trips to the Peoria Chiefs baseball game, Fired Up pottery studio, and Elevate Trampoline Park. I hope your campers had a great and as fun summer as I did! I hope to see you all around the club for various parties and events, but until next summer, I hope everybody has a great school year!

Double week post about how the beginning of July has been going! We had a great Fourth of July week last week and getting down in the farm this week. During our Party in the U.S.A. week, we had water balloon fights, lawn games such as corn hole, ladder ball, and bocce ball. We made red, white, and blue themed food such as flag frosted graham crackers and frosting dipped strawberries. We also pinned the star on the flag. We moved our field trip to Friday and went to Dragonland Waterpark. The kids had a great time going down the slides there! This week we learned more about barnyard animals and the outdoors in general. We built a tent in the room which was a kid favorite! We also had s'mores for a snack one day. The kids created barnyard animal themed money banks out of milk jugs and used clothespins for legs to make animals of their choice. The kids had a blast at Rockin P' Ranch and learned about horse grooming and got to ride a horse as well! Even the little ones who were scared at first gave it a try and had a great time! Next week, our theme is the Amazing Race! Kids will partner up and participate in road blocks and detours throughout the week and a final activity at the end of the week. We are having out field trip on Monday next week, not our normal Thursday, and are going to a Peoria Chiefs game. We will also be leaving earlier than normal at 11:00. I will also not be here next week and part of the following week, so in my absence Miss Claire and Miss Kelley will be in charge. I have all the confidence in the world they will do a great job! Making patriotic flag graham crackers Fun times at Dragonland Waterpark! Fun times in the tent! SO much fun riding horses!
We traveled all throughout time last week here at Kids Kamp! We started the week off by going al the way back to the Stone Ages. We grew dinosaurs in water, went on a dinosaur hunt, and did some cave art drawings. On Tuesday, we went back to the Roaring 20s. Miss Hannah taught all the kids how to do the Charleston. I don't know who had more fun, her or the kids! The girls made flapper head bands, the boys made fedoras, and everybody enjoyed some mobster mustaches. On Wednesday, we went back to the Renaissance and watched a clip from Peabody & Sherman to learn more about the time, we talked about what being a Renaissance man (or woman) meant, and colored pictures on our backs just like Michelangelo did when painting the Sistine Chapel. On Thursday, we had to design out own time machine in order to blast into the future to the Year 3000! We don't want our world will be like then, but we know one thing for sure: there will still be go karts because that never stops being fun. The kids (and counselors alike) had an amazing time riding dune buggies, bumper boats, go-karts, and playing some mini golf. The week was rounded off by going to the 70s and creating tie-dyed peace signs. Psychedelic man! This week it is Party in the U.S.A. while we celebrate all things America and have loads of classic American fun. Coloring like cave man with caveman art Mobster mustaches from the 20s! Coloring like Michelangelo Bumper boats at Kartville Mini golf!
Hello everybody! Apologies again for the late blog post! We had such a fun and busy week last week with all our superheroes/campers. Each camper created their own superhero identity where they made their own name, powers, weaknesses, villain, sidekick, and a picture of what they would look like. They also made their masks and capes to go along with their new identity. Thankfully everybody passed the superhero bootcamp and was able to use their new found powers to be a full superhero. We all very much enjoyed going to see Incredibles 2 on Thursday for our field trip! This week we are traveling in time, so send your camper everyday to see what new era we'll visit everyday.
Hello everybody! I know this blog about our second week of camp is coming a little late, but I wanted to make sure I shared all the fun we had last week celebrating some of our favorite holidays again! On Monday, we celebrated New Years Eve! We had a confetti balloon countdown to "noon's" year eve where we had a huge confetti balloon! We also had a "champagne" (sparkling grape juice) toast at snack to ring in the new year. On Tuesday, we all dressed up for Halloween! The kids had a blast going around and trick or treating all over the club. We also colored masks, did some Halloween bingo, and a Halloween word search. On Wednesday, with the luck of the Irish we had St. Patrick's day all over again. I hope your camper wore green otherwise they got pinched! A leprechaun visited camp and sent us on a scavenger hunt for his pot of gold at the end! Christmas was the name of the day on Thursday. We made reindeer ornaments, sipped on hot chocolate, and went ice skating! To round out the week we celebrated Easter by having an Easter egg hunt, dying hard boiled eggs with shaving cream, and watching "Hop." Outside of camp, the counselors also had the joy of seeing one of our own, Miss Claire, get married on Saturday! She's on her honeymoon this week, but we all look forward to having her back with us next week. This week we are ALL about Superheroes! What will your child's secret power be? Our balloon countdown ”Champagne” toast Trick or treat! Happy St. Paddy’s Day! Ice skating was quite the adventure Our shaving cream and food coloring dyed Easter eggs Easter egg hunt Miss Claire’s wedding!
Man did this week fly by! It was so great to see both old and new campers alike. It's so great to see the kids from previous summers and it's just as fun to meet and make friends with new campers! We said aloha to summer this week by doing fun things related to Hawaii! We designed surfboards (picture below), aloha punch (the kids will tell you, it was de-lish!), under the sea dipped marshmallows, tie-dyed t shirts, and went on an awesome field trip. This week we headed to The Hive Studio downtown on Water Street. If you've never been there I highly recommend going! Jodi is an awesome artist who can make even the least creative person into an artist. The kids learned how to paint pineapples to go along with our Hawaiian theme of the week. Let me just say, WOW! I knew these kids were artist, but they truly showed their creativity with these pieces. Check them out below! Sadly, I could not have camp this week on Friday because four out of the five staff all had something come up this Friday and needed the day off; however, we are in full swing everyday for all the weeks going forward (except for the Fourth of July which we always have off). I look forward to seeing everybody again next week for our "Holiday" week and all the fun times to be had! Until then, Sarah Individually designed surfboards! The ride to the field trips are just as fun as the field trips themselves! The very creative pineapples the kids learned how to paint today at The Hive I’m very proud of my little artists

Below are a few pictures of the room in case you can't just wait until Monday to see the new changes :) Until Monday, Sarah Our living room now has cute new pillows, soft blankets, and a fun Frozen rug! The Wii room has a fun new superhero rug and some arrow wall art! You’ll have to come explore yourself to see what new toys we have 😉 Save the drama for the llama cool down corner 💆🏽♀️
